DescriptionThese two die cuts were made by Dennison, in the 1950\'s in the US. They would have been sold in a package marked Dennison, but the pieces aren\'t marked. They are charming, medium sized 7\", so great for ALL kinds of crafts and decorating. They are in good vintage condition, with lovely \"patina\" - the aged look that things get over time. They are slightly darkened with age.
They are made from lithograph paper over cardboard, and die cut. Die cut, for those that don\'t know, means that the sheets of cardboard with the paper glued down were cut by a stamping machine - a \"die\", that cut the piece very precisely. It\'s a bit like the scrapbooking die cut tools, only on an industrial scale.
The pieces are lightly used - there is quite a bit of tape scars and damage to the backs, but the fronts are lovely. Santa has a crease to the end of his boot, and the snowman has two punctures from staples. Both pieces display well, and would be fun for scrap booking, for all kinds of crafts, or just to display at Christmas. Their medium size makes them quite versatile.
Dennison was the leader in holiday paper decorations and crepe paper in the last century, and their paper items are highly prized by collectors.
