$7.50

Fantastic pair of beautiful hand blown \"imprisoned glass\", also referred to as \"caged glass\" and \"bubble glass\" from the mid century (1960\'s?). Similar glassware production was highlighted in an article in the January 1964 issue of Popular Mechanics (available on Google Books) and first became popular when it was used at New York\'s swanky La Fonda Del Sol. The article credits 1960\'s Mexico City glass artist Filipe Derflingher with the design. The style is also very similar vintage Murano blown caged glass from Italy (which started in the 1940\'s).
It is made by welding metal (with cutouts of diamonds, squares, circles, etc.) into cylinders, then blowing molten glass into the cylinder so that the glass bulges out of the openings creating bubble glass.
Measures: 6\" tall, 2 1/2\" wide
The copper/brass has a nice vintage patina the glass is crack and chip free. Great holiday gift or addition to your collection.
