2 Vintage Air Line Pilots Association Lapel Pins1/20th-10K Gold-filled Metal
You are offerding on 2 vintage Air Line Pilots Association Pins. The Air Lines Pilots Association formed in 1931 to represent the interests of both Canadian and American airlines.
A description of each pin follows:
1. This pin features petite wings centered by a globe reading, \"ALPA\" andmeasures 3/4\" x 1/4\".
2. This pin features a half petite wing centered by a globe reading, \"ALPA\" and measures 1/2\" x 1/4\".The half wing pin denotes the next generation of ALPA pilots. For the first year of membership, the half wing symbolizes their apprenticeship. This is when the new hire is not only learning the intricacies of airline piloting, but also the benefits and responsibilities of belonging to the country\'s largest pilot labor union.
The back of both pins are marked, \"1/20-10K GF\" (for gold-filled metal) along with \"IJWU - No 10 - Union Made\" and a diamond shape within a circle. This is the mark of the International Jewel Workers Union.
Both pins have screw posts on the back disc type fasteners.
Both pins are in lovely condition with only the expected faint surface marks from gentle wear.
