Time to make trip to France to replenish my stock of French brocante textiles & ephemera…..back with new items on Sunday 15th March. Until then, I leave you with the contents of 5 boxes of antique lace from a country house in Northern England – a family collection dating back to the Victorian era - some beautiful antique costume items, Edwardian bedcovers, an extraordinary antique wedding tiara from Eastern France and more. Enjoy browsing, whilst I trawl the brocante markets of Western France in search of more treasure!

From the collection of family lace I am listing this week.....all Victorian and earlier lace. The last two images show the boxes when they arrived - most of the lace is listed this week, so do have a look at the other items too if you love antique lace. This lot consists of two antique 18th century Dresden whitework, or drawn/pulled threadwork. Both flounces are in excellent condition, with no damage - one tiny break at the very edge of the shorter flounce. I have not laundered these - ther are a very few storage marks, but I leave any laundering to the discretion of the buyer. Both worked on fine muslin or lawn. The circular flounce ( perhaps an engangeantesleeve cuff) is attached to a fine linen tape at the top edge. It is 8cm deep, and approx. 110cm measured along the bottom edge. The second flounce is 5cm deep and 73cm long measured along the top edge. 2 lovely flounces for the collector of fine antique embroidery and lace.

PAYMENT

Payment to be made within 3 DAYS of sale end please. My items always end on a Sunday evening, so payment must be received by the following Wednesday evening.

Paypal ONLY for international buyers - no bank transfers.

For UK buyers I accept Paypal (preferred), personal cheques drawn on a UK bank account and uncrossed postal orders. When paying by UK cheque, please note that your item(s) cannot be sent until your cheque has cleared.

All buyers who fail to pay within my 3 day deadline, or who do not contact me to arrange for delayed payment, are automatically added to my blocked buyers list, and will not be able to buy from me again. I also automatically open an unpaid item case against non-paying buyers on the 4th day after sale end.

SHIPPING

I am happy to ship worldwide, and always combine shipping costs on items that end on the same day. I do NOT hold over payment of items from one week to the next - all items must be paid for within 3 days of sale end.

From 1/1/2014, all parcels will be sent by tracked shipping ONLY. Parcels to UK will be sent by Special Next day Delivery, or ParcelForce 48 for heavier items. For international destinations, parcels weighing under 2kg will be sent by Airsure or International Signed For, and those that weigh over 2kg. will be sent by Global Priority. Apologies for the higher costs, but policy has changed, and I can only send by tracked shipping now.

My items are carefully packed so they reach you safely, and I charge a small fee for packaging materials – this is included in the shipping cost.

I aim to dispatch parcels to my customers within 48 hours of receiving payment.

RETURNS POLICY

Returns are accepted within 14 days, but ONLY if the item has been seriously mis-described, which I try very hard not to do! BUYER pays for return TRACKED shipping. Please note that as I sell unique, antique textiles and ephemera, any item you return MUST be well packed and received in exactly the same condition as sent. Any UK customs duty that I incur in order to retrieve a returned international parcel will be deducted from the refund amount.

If a returned item is found to have been worn, laundered, repaired or damaged in any way, thereby compromising its value, I will only make a partial refund according to the condition. Once I have received the item in return, and have verified its condition, I will refund your original payment and original shipping costs within 3 working days.

SERVICE

I always try to offer my customers excellent service, and will continue to do so. As I am a one-woman business, and am often away seeking out interesting items to offer you, I am unable to offer a seamless “Amazon-like” service, with dispatch of parcels within 24 hours, and free domestic shipping. I will nevertheless continue to offer the same professional service as before despite the recent changes in policy.
