2005 C.F. Martin \"OM-45 Marquis 1933\"Acoustic Guitar with Case

Excellent / Mint Condition / Rare Model

Serial #1054xxx

Background: C.F. Martin\'s \"45 Marquis\" series was a brief run of high-end guitars which were basically deluxe 45\'s, with Adirondack Spruce tops, Fossil Ivory parts (nut, saddle, and pins) and delicate bracing.

This OM-45 Marquis is in like-new condition - no nicks, scratches, dings, cracks, or buckle rash. It is virtually unplayed. It has been stored in a climate-controlled, non-smoking Environment. It comes with the Martin black, Geib-style case, with green interior, also in excellent condition. Any blemishes which may appear in the photos are just light reflections - the guitar is perfect. The strings have been removed only for the purpose of photos and shipping.

It has a high-grade Adirondack top, with fairly even grain lines across the entire width. The pearl is plentiful and spectacular - some of the nicest I\'ve seen from Martin. The Rosewood back and sides have beautiful grain and color. Typical of the 45 series, all the woods and craftsmanship are of the highest quality. With its X-scalloped 1/4\" Adirondack top braces, and Fossil Ivory parts, it has that sparkling Martin OM-45 sound. To my ear, its bell-like tone is as close to pre-war as it gets with a newer Martin. The neck is flat and straight, and the saddle is high. The guitar is original, and there have been no modifications or additions.

The nut width is 1-3/4\" which is standard for the OM model. Here are the specs from the Martin website: The list price was $12,999 at the time, nine years ago, and the street price was around $9,000. It would be much higher today.

Here is an interesting link to the Mandolin Brothers listing of the same model: projects the best-possible Martin OM sound, with an even mid-range and clear trebles. The action is excellent - easy to play, with no buzzing. The neck is flat and straight, and the saddle is high.
There is an interior paper label which says \"OM-45 Marquis\" and is hand-signed in ink by the head of the C.F. Martin Company, C.F (Chris) Martin IV.

Adorned with the classic 45-style top-back-side pearl inlays, and Style 45 \"Snowflake\" fingerboard pearl inlays, the OM-45 Marquis is a gorgeous, top-shelf Martin. And it sounds as good as it looks.

For those who wonder, I am a high-end guitar collector. My instruments are only the the best quality and are in excellent condition.
