Antique Paper Mache Santos Madonna Doll with Crown Scapular& Rhinestone Cross

Description: Absolutely gorgeous santos doll. There are so many beautifuldetails that the artist added - from thestunning painted features, the ornate earrings, the rhinestone cross, felt scapular, ornate crown and halo. Perfectaddition to a collection or to display on its own. I am not sure of the exact age of this piece nor any of its accessories - the doll, crown and cross necklace appear old. I believe the doll is made from paper mache and the base is made from wood.I\'ve never seen anything quite like it before. Crown has a sharp metal pole in the center which fits into a hole on top of the doll\'s head.

Measures:Approximately 17.5\" tall x 6 3/4\" wide x 5\" deep

Condition: Head has crack/damage as shown. There is crazing throughout and damage at the bottom of the doll\'s clothing as shown. Arms of the clothing are a lighter color than the rest of the doll. Wood stand holding the halo has splintering at the bottom.Despite these flaws it is still an exquisite piece which still shows beautifully.
