To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of The Canadian Arctic Expedition, the Royal Canadian Mint issued the exclusive selectively gold plated silver dollar only with this premium proof set. 2013 marks the first year the proof set was produced without the penny, having been phased out the year prior, bringing the total number of coins in the set to seven. All coins in this set were struck in 99.99% pure silver with a high relief proof finish. This set is encapsulated and comes complete with Certificate of Authenticity and specially designed outer sleeve as issued by the Royal Canadian Mint.
