DESCRIPTIONFine and unusual antique circa 1920s-30s brooch. This was made by Koninklijke Gerritsen & Van Kempen, royal silversmiths and part of the long established Van Kempen tree of silver smiths. This particular instance of the company was in business from 1925 to 1960 and this particular piece hails from the earlier end of that range. It is a wonderful piece, featuring a stylized scene of a deer and a fawn among flowers with stars in the sky. The elements of the design are stylized and covered with beautiful and vibrant multicolor enamel. The back has a dark green counter-enamel. This enamel plaque is set in a classic silver frame. An unusual and hard to find example of antique signed Dutch jewelry.
