DESCRIPTION:
Here is a lovely old antique bisque shoulder head German doll. Incised on the back of her bisque head is \"370, A M 5 DEP, Armand Marseille\". Hand written on the upper back of her body is \"Curly Locks\". I do not know her past history but will try to describe her the best I can with any flaws. Reference attributes to German maker Armand Marseille, 1880s to 1930. Dep is a registered claim or trade mark used by both the French and Germans. Measures a larger size 25\" tall being a bisque shoulder head,bisque hands with fingers intact,she has kidleather body that isclip jointed at the hips, gusset at the knees. The arms are pulled out from under the shoulder area. Overall wear, tape repair, scuffs on this old body but together intact. Displays well with clothing on, sitting or with a doll stand. I flashed her head and do not see any cracks or hairlines inside, there is plaster cement inside the head to secure the eyes remain open all the time as most doll people do. She has a really \"sweet\" dolly face with stay open brown glass eyes, upper lashes on the eye lids, painted straight lashes below the eyes, mohair insert brows, open mouth with upper teeth. There is a faint little dimple in her chin. Wears human hair brunette wig that slips over a pate on her head. Doll is wearing a vintage satin dress with net embroidery overlay, it is lovely, there is a ribbon tie at the waist, snaps down the back of the dress. She wears slip, pantaloons, stockings and shoes. Clothing is older and does show some wear including her stockings and shoes. I have taken plenty of photos. Please look at my photos they will serve as part of this description.
