This is a smaller in size sculpture of the OriginalBronze statue of a god, found at the bottom of the sea offcape Artemision, in north Euboea. The god, shown in great stride, extends hisleft arm forward, whilethrowing the thunderbolt or the trident, which heheld in his right hand. The identification as Zeus orPoseidon is controversial (the former seems more probable). The original sculpture is inthe National Archaeological Museum in Athens. This sculpture is made of bronzematerial, giving the piece a classic appearance. I AM NOTSURE OF AGE BUT I HAVE HAD THIS PIECE FOR OVER 20 YEARS. THIS PIECE IS 26INCHES AND WEIGHS A WHOPPING 27 POUNDS. THE CLOSEST ONE ON I COULD FINDWAS 20\" AND 16 POUNDSAND IS LISTED AT $1,499.
