DESCRIPTION:
This listing is for a lovely antique German DOLLY FACE girl doll. Doll has a few \"flaws\" I will mention. Incised on the back of her bisque head is \"Made in Germany, Armand Marseille, 390 n, DRGM 246/1, A 10 M\". Reference tells me 1890+ Germany by Armand Marseille, DRGM is a registered claim or trade mark used by the French and Germans. Mold \"n\" is the \"dolly face\" mold. This doll is a bisque socket head with wooden composition German doll body. Body is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrist, legs and knees with all fingers intact. Fingers and toes outlined in red for that realistic look. Body has original finish with some overall wear, scuffs, composition line crazing, splits in wood but together intact for being 100 years old or so, see photos. She has a \"sweet\" dolly face with \"fixed\" open blue glass eyes, painted lashes around the eyes, brush stroked brown brows, she has open mouth with upper teeth. A faint little dimple in her chin and wonderful blush on her face. Her replacement blonde wig is charming, it slips over a pate on her head. I flashed inside the head and see a small \"split\" on the rim that goes down into the head, see photos #5 and #6. Head is all together, this looks like a pencil mark but is an old line crack that has been repaired. Head is a bit dirty inside, there is plaster cement inside that was too secure the eyes remain open all the time. She wears a vintage blue print dress that snaps down the back, slip, pantaloons, stockings and shoes. Some light wear on her clothing, nothing terrible but could use a light overall cleaning.
