28" length, 3/8" diameter solid natural cold steel, lightly brushed and metal waxed. Mid-century Eames style hairpin legs. Set of 4 legs. Perfect for your modern project. Pre-drilled screw holes so they are ready to be attached immediately. The photo of the writing desk is an example of how they look in use. Email me if you would like a custom size that is not already listed in my store, painted, or in quantities of 3 or 5 legs instead of four (usually for boomerang tables or for desks with a side bar.) These legs are not sold as "raw steel", because raw steel will rust just from the moisture in your fingers (and your pet's noses), and because raw steel darkens over time metal wax is applied after they are machine-brushed. These finishing efforts provide much nicer legs for the long run, and saves you the cost of expensive metal wax or lacquer. This goes for all the legs you see in my store. Also, all the legs are made using cold rolled steel (vs. hot roll) which has a more consistent shape and much prettier look.Perfect for designers, furniture makers, and individuals who want them for projects such as dining tables, media stands, desks, outdoor tables, sofa tables…just about anything you can think of.Hairpin legs can be incredibly difficult to make because they require about a 5 degree angle from the base to the floor. Much of their beauty comes from this angle. A tip for aesthetics, don’t mount them too close to the edge of your piece. Use a ruler or something and mount them at about 1 1/2” from the corner edges. The 5 degree angle will bring them out to just a few inches from the edge of your piece when legs touch the floor. Thank you, DefineModern.com
