DESCRIPTION:
We are pleased to offer this \"larger size\" antique bisque head German doll. Incised on the back of her bisque head is \"Made in Germany, Armand Marseille, 390n, DRGM 246/1, A 11 M\". Reference attributes this doll to German doll maker Armand Marseille, 1890+ Germany. Doll measures 29\" tall beinga bisque socket head with composition jointed doll body. Jointed at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, legs and knees with all her fingers and toes intact, she is strung fine and displays well sitting or standing with a doll stand. Body shows overall wear with scuffs, paint loss, some paint touch up throughout body for being 100 or so years old, see photos. A \"sweet\" Dolly Face with open and close blue glass sleepy eyes that work fine, upper lashes mostly intact, painted lashes around the eyes, feathered brown brows, open mouth with upper teeth, and rose color blush on her \"near perfect\"little face. There is a little \"dimple\" in her chin. I flashed her head and do not see any cracks or hairlines, there is plaster cement inside that was used to secure the sleepy eyes on rocker as most doll people do. Her mohair wig is old and all \"original\" to this doll, it is worn and needs a little \"TLC\" or you may wish to replace her wig. It is glued on a pate that goes over her head. She wears a beautiful Antique dress that must have been \"gorgeous\" at one time, now it shows \"melting\" throughout, a few rips, and it needs sewing restorations, if possible. It buttons down the back. She wears a half slip with safety pin closure, stockings and replacement shoes. There is a straw hat on her head. I have taken plenty of photos. Please look at my photos they will serve as part of this description. This larger size German doll has a \"beautiful\" dolly face and would be a \"Treasure\" for collection or display!
