I am a mom, dentist and lover of antique copper cookware & kitchenalia! While shopping for pieces to add to my own collection, I often have the pleasure of finding beautiful pieces to share with all of you! As much as I would like to keep all of these sparkling treasures for myself, I simply cannot.I usually have several gorgeous pieces for sale, most come directly from France and England.

While I definitely have a friendly \"no problem\" attitude toward accepting a return and issuing a full refund, my attitude toward individuals who leave negative or neutral response, without first informing me of a problem, isanything butfriendly. Thankfully, this has only happen to me 2 times in more than 10 years and 3,500 transactions. This week, I am sorting through my collection and dusting off a few my less-than-perfect pieces. I will be adding a few of these \"injured\" pieces to my listings and starting the prices extra-low due to theimperfections. If you are not in search of perfection, these pieces provide a great opportunity to get some fabulous old cooper cookware for abargain price!
This particular pan is very well-made, quite thick and structurally sound. HOWEVER, it has made the injured list, because the loop at the end of the iron handle has a small crack-see picture #12. Even though the iron hasseparated, it is still extremely strong. As you can see, thehandle\'s loop easilysupports the weight of the pan while hanging-see pictures #4 and #5. This does not interfere with use in any way.
Apart from the handle\'s crack, the pan is structurally sound and built to last several lifetimes. The copper measures 2mm in thicknessart the upper rim and I\'m sure the base is much thicker. In fact, this pan is nearly as heavy as the slightly larger, 5.5 quart pan that I have listed!
There are no manufacturer\'s stamps, dovetails or exciting details to share about this piece, but there is an interesting circle punch next to the handle-see picture #12. It appears to have been very purposefully placed, but I have no idea why.
This classic French copper pan that has stood the test of time and hasseveral more lifetimes of service to offer!
Structural Condition:
The pan is structurally sound.There are a few minor dings to be noted, but there are no holes, cracks or leaks.
The pan sits flat and is well-balance. The symmetry is very good, but not quite a perfect circle.
The sturdy iron handle is firmly attached by three solid copper rivets- don\'t forget the small crack in the loop!
Exterior Condition:
The exterior copper has a brilliant mirror-like shine!
There are some light scratches and cosmetic blemishes to be noted-especially on the base of the pan, but nothing major to report.
Interior Condition:
The interior surfaces have been lined with hand-applied tin. Thelining has darkened over time, has a few surface irregularities to be noted. However, it appears to be completely intact. I see no exposed copper.
While this might not be the prettiest lining in town, it is clean and suitable for use.
If you prefer a more pristine lining, you could have the pan re-tinned, but it is not necessary for use.
