Two scarce little histories.It measures approx. 14.5cm x 9.7cm x 1.8cm. Bound in modern hald leather with marbled paper covered boards. There are four raised bands and a leather and gilt title label. The extremities are a little surface worn and rubbed, and a little faded to the top of the spine. Else the binding is firm. Internally, the front pastedown has several ownership bookplates, ink and blind (William O\'Brien, bequest book label dated 1899; libraryplates of Milltown Park). In the first work the engraved portrait has been trimmed and laid down. The title page is a little surface grubby and there is an ink initial to the top corner, and is closely cropped to the bottom woodcut border. There is some worn/faded ink to the top margin of the first page of main text. There are a couple of little edge/corner nicks, and one leaf has a small tear to the bottom edge. The second work - The frontispiece has been trimmed to edges and repaired to the top corner where there is a portion of loss, see images. The title page is grubby and there is a portion missing from the top right edge. 2 leaves have a chip to the top corner. The leaves of both works have been very closely cropped, affecting some page numbering in places and plate titles to bottom.

There is an engraved frontispiece to each work. The second work, also has 3 further copper engraved plates.
