Burmese (Burmite) amber is difficult to acquire and has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaursand is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar(Burma).

InDecember of 2016,a portion of the tail of a small dinosaur wasreported in a piece of burmite amber, and inJune 2017, a nearly complete extinct species of bird was reported!

There have since been other fascinating finds reported includingthat of a frog in 2018!

This is a fully polished, cabochon shaped piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber that contains a group of 3 insects including a psocopteran, a fly, and a beetle all from the time of the dinosaurs.

These insects may have even sat on a dinosaur\'s back!
