3 letters in reference to the civil war and lincoln. one is wrote day of election as he says "so you could vote for lincoln today,hope he becomes president" another is a condolence letter for the death of a brother it reads in part " the ties that bind us to our kindred are very strong and when severed the heart bleeds with anguish..........He was away from home anong strangers and suffering no one can tell how much without the call and attention which friends and home could render......the sad result of this cruel war.But he died in a good cause.............by inches in rebel prisons distitute of care,food and clothing.......crush out the rebellion......a great many a soldier has been cheated out of his vote for honest old abe...." goes on.great letter.90 percent is of politics and war.
