Here is a fine quality \"Bamileke\" feather headdress also known as a \"Juju Hat\", 30\" in Diameter ,Tangerine/ Orange... This hat was originally intended for use in aceremonial dance costumein the grassland region of Cameroon.. long collected by people in the west for their rare beauty and vibrant colors ..The center of production of the hatsis the small town of Bafosam and surrounding villages ..Extended families haveworkedtogether for generationsweavingraffia& tying feathers to wood sticks to create these amazing geometricworks of art , today it has become a cottage industry. Many small colorful shops line the street of the central market where you can visually inspect and purchase hats and masks.. I first became interested in the Bamileke on a 2004 trip to Cameroon &West Africa and first listed a Headdress in 2005 on and have every other yearsince then.. (Shipping) packing the hats for transport is key ..I have worked out a simple method of stabilizing the hats with a inverted cone to hold it in place . this is a sensitive requirement nesscessary to insure the hat isnot damaged in the post..
