1930 GREAT KANTO EARTHQUAKE MEDAL THAT WAS ESTABLISHED BY IMPERIAL EDICT NUMBER 148 ON AUGUST 13, 1930 AND ISSUED TO ARMY & NAVY IN SUPPORT OF THE REBUILDING OF THE KANTO AREA WHICH INCLUDES TOKYO AND YOKOHAMA AREAS. THE GREAT KANTO EARTHQUAKE WAS IN 1923.
EXCELLENT CONDITION AND IN THE ORIGINAL FITTED CASE. THE CASE HAS WEAR AS CAN BE SEEN.
THIS IS PURE SILVER (muted finish on the silver with the exception of the Imperial Kiku on the front).
A PURE SILVER MEDAL, THE OFFICIAL NAME FOR THIS MEDAL IS, \"Imperial Capital Rehabilitation Commemorative Medal, Showa 5 [1930] March\", which is inscribed on the back of the medal. The front of the badge shows the Marunouchi business area in Tokyo.
It does have the Osaka \"M\" Mint mark on the top of the medal which I took a close-up picture of. THIS IS AN OSAKA MINT MADE MEDAL.
MINT CONDITION AND IN THE ORIGINAL FITTED BOX.
