Offered here is a circa 1930s old Navaho weaving that measures 3feet 5 inches long by 2 foot 6inches wide or 41” x 30”. It isattributed to the Klagetoh weaving area and is in good condition. It was hand-woven by a skilled Navajo weaveron a primitive upright loom of all Native handshorn, handcarded and nicely handspunlong staple Churro cross and Merino quality sheep wool, both weft & warp. This rug is designed with a large Klagetohstyle central stepped diamond medallion with half medallions along eachside. \"As Is\" with .

We recently obtained this vintage Native Americantextile on consignment just to offer you here on . It has a nice, even weft count averaging 24per inch and a warp count of 6 per inch.The selvage cords are: 3 sidesexcellent and one end fair with 6” of missing cords. Warp selvages are 2-spiral cords and weftselvages are natural weft loop finished around the outside warps. The corners are: 2 excellent, 1 very good and one good. Thetassels are: 1 excellent, 1 good and 2missing. It has not been cleaned, isneeding a cleaning now & comes from a non-smoking home. There are scatted soiled spot or stains. One side has quite a lot of snags and pullsin the white areas. There is some lightred bleed. There is 6” of damage in theblack border at the middle of one end. Bothsides are even in pattern color and shown in photos above. Colors are nice in this piece of old AmericanIndian art and they are: natural white and aniline black & cardinal red. Complete with lazy lines, this example of oldNative Americana is ready to head your way.(TF2)
