This sale is for a 3 piece set from the Snow Village Series that was introduced by Department 56 in 2001 and retired in 2005 and is made of hand crafted ceramic that has been individually hand painted, and fired with a glaze finish. This piece is entitled “Happy Easter House” (Item # 56.55090), and this delightful little pastel yellow home, appropriately number “5601”, is decked out and prepared for the upcoming Easter holiday in entirety, from its tree decorated with colored eggs right down to the pastel eggs along the walkway, the window boxes brimming with flowers and the flower trellis at the side of the house, the floral sign on the lawn wishing visitors a “Happy Easter”, to the Easter bunny rabbit who greets them at the door. This piece comes with two ceramic accessories that are entitled “Egg Hunt”, the first of which is a boy who is dressed in his Easter Sunday best and is heralding his Easter egg find among a display of spring hyacinths and tulips, and the second of which is a little girl with golden hair who is crouching on the ground to retrieve an Easter egg hidden along the tulip pot to add to her basket collection. The house comes with a light cord with an on/off switch that has a 4 watt nightlight bulb, and with the removable tree that is decorated with Easter eggs. The house measures approximately 8.5 inches in length, by 6 inches in width, and 6.5 inches in height, and is marked underneath “The Original Snow Village – Happy Easter House – Department 56 (logo) - 2001”. It also comes with its original tag that depicts its name and maker. The “Egg Hunt” accessory pieces are marked underneath with stickers that have the Department 56 logo, and the boy piece measures approximately 6 x 6, while the girl piece measures approximately 3 x 3. Although I am not the original owner, this item has been tested and is in good working order, and comes in its original Styrofoam box and outer protective sleeve, which has a bit of wear, but is still functional. The protective sleeve states that you can “remove the Happy Easter sign”, however, I was unable to do so and did not want to risk breaking it by force, and there are two small chips at the edge of the grass at the back of the house. But otherwise, all of the pieces are in gently used but very good condition.
