4 Bossons 1959 Plaques Plate Summer Spring Flowers Autumn Gold Chrysanthemum:

This listing is for the four high relief plates that you see in the photos. Each plate has a box that I think is original. I purchased all four plates from an old woman who said that she purchased them from an antique shop about 30 years ago. All four plates have an impressed mark on the reverse that reads, “Hand Painted Plaque by W.H. Bossons Limited W. Congleton Cheshire Made in England. World Copyright Reserved. (c) 1959”. Three of the plaques are titled on the front of the plaque near the edge. The plate with chrysanthemums is not titled. All but the “Spring Flowers” plaque have a Bossons tag attached with a string.

The condition of the plaques is much like you see it in my photos. There are varying amounts of paint loss mostly on the edges and the reverse that you can see in my photos. There are no chips or cracks. The size of the plaques varies some. They average around 13 ½ inches diameter.

The 4 plaques and their general condition are as follows:

Titled, “Summer Flowers”. 13 ¼ inches diameter. A few specks of paint loss on the reverse and some paint loss around the anchors for the rings that hold the strings. Two small areas of paint loss along edge shown in photo.

Untitled with Chrysanthemums. 13 5/8 inches diameter. Area and specks of paint loss around edge mostly shown in photos. Specks of paint loss on reverse and around anchors for rings.

Titled, “Spring Flowers”. 13 7/8 inches diameter. Two areas of flaked paint along the edge. Photo is showing only one area of paint loss along edge. The other area is on the opposite side and is about the same size. A close-up shows some flaking paint on a small bud. A few more small specks of paint loss along the edges and on the reverse.

Titled, “Autumn Gold”. Few very tiny specks of paint loss along edge. Small paint loss on reverse and around anchors for rings.

The boxes show signs of use in the forms of dings and a little soil. One box has a tear in a flap. They all look pretty good and are useable.
