Collectible set of four \"National Hobo Convention\" belt buckles. The National Hobo Convention has been held in Britt, Iowa since 1900. In the late 1980\'s and early 1990\'s, belt buckles were made in honor of the history of the hoboes. These buckles are designed in silver tone pewter and all measure between 2-2.5 inches by 3-3.25 inches. This set includes buckles from the years: 1987, 1988, 1990, & 1991. All are numbered 124 of 125 Limited Edition. The buckles have not been worn. Two buckles (1988 on front & 1991 on back side) have some type of white residue on them--no clue what it is.

1987 buckle features the hoboes Mountain Dew, Shorty, and Hardrock Kid. Their real names, life dates, and years of being crowned Hobo King are found on the back side. \"All three are buried in the Britt Evergreen Cemetery,\" according to the information on the back side; c. 1987 Iowa Premium Specialty Co.

1988 buckle features Mulligan Stew, making music in the Hobo jungle, and theannual parade. Back reads: \"The coming together of thousands to celebrate the lifestyle of a few.Campfires cook the Hobo Stew. Parades march in honor and the jungle is filled with friends making music and sharing stories of the wonderlust days of old. August 12, 13, 14, 1988.\"

1990 buckle features \"Hobo Jungle\" scene. Back reads: Every year hoboes, travelers, townspeople and tourists attend the Hobo Convention. They often go to the Hobo Jungle where they tell stories, poems and sing songs.\"

1991 buckle features Pennsylvania Kid. Back reads: \"Pennsylvania Kid (Richard Wilson) from New Jersey was crowned King of the Hobos in 1963, 1966, 1968 and 1971 and now isat rest east of Britt with other Hobo Kings in a special area in the Britt Evergreen Cemetery.\"
