You are offerding on 4 vintage Aviation magazines dating from 1927-1930. The first is \"POPULAR AVIATION\", August, 1927 that dedicated the first 5 pages to Col. Charles A. Lindbergh\'s famous flight in May of 1927. There are several photos of his plane and his receptions in various places and a full page portrait on the back of the magazine. There are many other articles dedicated to Chamberlain and Byrd and others. These old aviation mags are very interesting even to the non-aviator like me. There are 50 pages in this first magazine of good stuff to read about the early progresses of aviation. One can just sense the energy and excitement exuded during this period of aviation history. Condition of this magazine is Good. The cover wants to separate from the cover but the rest of the pages are tightly bound to each other.
The second mag is the February, 1929 issue of \"The AMERICAN AVIATOR.\" This issue has many articles written by various pilots like Louis Bleriot who made the first flight across the English Channel. There are many pictures dedicated to airplane production, innovations and sharing the innovations and accomplishments in the field of aviation. This magazine has 67 pages of great stuff to read. The condition of this mag is only fair at best. The staples are tight and the cover and all pages are intact but the mag got wet sometime in its past. The cover shows some water stains and they spread through about half of the magazine. There is only slight wrinkling because the moisture was exposed near the binding. Thankfully the articles and photos are really not damaged by this.
The third mag is the April 6, 1929 issue of \"AVIATION\" has 236 wonderful pages of great ads and articles. The ads are always the best part for me in most old magazines of any type. Aviation is coming along and so there were dealers talking about TRADE-INS already!!!! The Radio was becoming a must enabling safer flying. Air Shows were creating excitement all over the world. The condition of this magazine is fair at best. It has tight staples and all pages are complete but it, too, got wet and so the cover is damaged and many of the inside pages show staining. Again, though, the wrinkling takes place near the spine and really does not affect readability of articles and enjoyment of pictures. The last magazine is the February 15, 1930 issue of \"AVIATION.\" This mag has 243 total pages with 83 or so dedicated to magazine articles about Air Shows and innovative flights and improvements in airplanes and the other 243 or so pages are all advertising!!!! The advertising stuff is sooo interesting to me as a non-aviation person. The condition of this magazine is good. The staples are tight and the magazine is complete. There is wear and some pieces missing from the spine because it is so thick. The front cover looks pretty good but there is a tear along the top 3 inches. You don\'t notice it until you open the mag. The back cover has a corner missing but is in otherwise good condition. The inside pages are great.
You receive all 4 magazines which should keep you supplied with some reading material for awhile. The winner must pay for the items within 7 days after the sale ends or they will be resold. Please ask questions in advance of offerding because I do not take returns on paper items. Thanks for your interest in these great, old aviation magazines. Good luck offerding.
