A printed leaf on hand made watermarked paper from an Ecclesiastical Benedictional, in Latin, with stenciled four lines to the stave and notes reflecting Gregorian Chant with four staves of four lines each in red ink and musical notes in black. The borders are hand drawn in black (195 x 150 mm. or approximately 7.75\" x 6.0\"). This tome was printed by N Konstanz for the dioceses of Constantinople in 1597. Headings and capitals are in red with one woodblock initial ā€œEā€ in black inkThe verso two Orations with heading in red ink with rubrics in red. This particular leaf contains the Music for The Mass that is celebrated on Good Friday The Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts. The service is an ancient one in the Eastern Orthodox Church.
