FINE ANTIQUE QASHQA\'I SADDLEBAG (Khorjin) FACE, SW Persian tribal, Zagros mountains region, 4th quarter of the 19th century, and, for its early antique age, it comes in quite good overall original condition for the collector. The exact size is 19\" x 25\" (48 x 63 cm). Just a little beauty of an antique Kashga\'i khorjin facing showingtheclassic design for early Qashqa\'i bags. The weaving is all wool in construction with numerous and varying hues of natural dye colors derived solely from organic plant sources. Fine asymmetrically knot structure open to the left (about 145-150 kspi) on natural wool warps and wool wefts dyed red. Super-soft wool quality, even pile, and a velvety handle. The plethora of small motifs the weaver used as filler elements are a constant feast for the eye. Note the pairs of two-headed animals. Condition is quite good with close clipped pile and the original sides and ends. My photos do not do this offering any justice. A sweet thing in the hand. An ideal weaving to use in the home or office displayed as an antique Persian tribal textile art wall hanging.
