Dublin - Old English Threaded Pattern - 4 1/2 troy oz

This is a lovely rare SET of SIX IRISH GEORGIAN solid sterling silver largetea spoons orcoffee spoons which was made inDublin, Irelandin 1832 by the illustrious Irish Georgian silversmith, Philip Weekes. They are in theOld English Threaded or Old Celtic Threadedpattern with a single drop heel and each measures 5 5/8\" long and is 1 1/8\" across its bowl. They are VERY substantial - each piece of cutlery weighs27.8 grams - a total ofalmost 4 1/2 troy oz. They areNT engravedto the handles.

Each spoon is in very good condition with a little less than the usual surface scratching that you\'d expect for their age and NO splits or dents and without dimpling to the bowls and less than the usual wear to the leading edges - SUPERB. Each is hallmarked on the reverse of the handle with PW, M, crowned harp standard mark (Irish sterling silver assay mark),Hibernia mark, GeorgeIV duty mark showing that they were hallmarked in Dublin in 1832. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A rare SET of SIX IRISH GEORGIAN spoons in superb condition after over180 years.
