We are offering for sale an excellent qualityLindisfarnepatternsilver tea and coffee service with tray.

This service comprises: a teapot, a coffee pot, hot water jug(for re-fill), sugar bowl and cream/milk jug anda matching two handled oval tray.

Each piece in this superb set are mounted with Celtic inspired decoration. This is know as the Lindisfarne pattern and each piece is stamped to the underside with a motif depicting Lindisfarne Abbey.The decoration is super crisp throughout.The majority of pieces bear the mark of Reid & Sons who were the premier retailer in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and are a short distance from Lindisfarne Island.

The teapot, coffee and hot water potshave heat resistant wooden handles and finials. The ovaltray has two handles and is big enough to hold all five pots should the need necessitate.

This is a trulyfantastic quality service in superb condition.

MARKS: Full set of English hallmarks (guaranteeing Sterling 925 standard silver) for London 1975/78 by Reid Sons (probably made by JB Chatterley & Sons). The tray is marked for Birmingham 1977 by JB Chatterley& Sons(probably retailed by Reid & Sons) . All pieces bear the Lindisfarne stamp.
