A leaf from an extraordinary large French lectern Bible, circa 1250, in Latin, on vellum (300x210 mm.) There are forty-one lines of double column monastic Gothic script with book headings and chapter numbers, versal initials alternate in blue and red pen work with magnificent flourishing as well as marginal corrections encapsulated in red and blue geometric pen work. Machabees 13 – 14 there are a two large six-line chapter initials “A” in red ink on a blue and red pen work ground and an “S” in blue ink on a red and blue pen work ground. The versoforty-one lines of double column monastic Gothic script. Condition of this leaf is fine [F].
