First of all, I must say that of all the manuscript leaves that I have, this \"9-Gemstone\" Buddhist leaf is by far the most absolutely beautiful. It is absolutely amazing! (See the three scanned images.)On sale are two (2) different Tibetan Buddhist leaves, with the first one being the most unique and spectacular. The following is a brief description of the two leaves: (1) I recently received from my friend in Tibet a rare Buddhist handwritten manuscript, which is known as \"9-gemstone\" because of the many colored used on the leaf (see the three scanned images). This colorful leaf is symbolic of the nine precious stones in Buddhism: mother of pearl, silver, copper, steel, coral, pearl, turquoise, lapis lazuli, and gold. The leaf is first colored black, and then the lines of text are written in Green, Red, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Gray and White inks, following by two white lines around the rectangular border. The size is about 3 1/2 in. x 10 in. and it has writing on both sides. This \"9-Gemstone\" leaf is an extremely the rare sheet (see the three scanned images). (2) The second leaf is what is called a \"wood-block\" printed sheet, because a single wooden block is reverse carved, so that when ink is applied to the wood block and it is used to stamp on paper, it produces a woodblock print for that particular page. The size is about 3 in. x 8 in. and it has writing on both sides. This Buddhist woodblock printed leaf is shown in the 3rd scanned image, below the 9 gemstone leaf.
