Sometime following the end of the Civil War, the former Adjutant of the 9th Maine Volunteers, J.E. Shepard, sent this four- page survivor list document to Civil War veterans of \" The Old Ninth\". In it he asks for any information that would update current addresses, or whether \"comrads\" have already died. Measures 8 1/2\" x 22\" unopened. Hundreds of names and addresses listed in alphabetical order. The regiment was very active during the war and lost 421 men. Ten officers and 172 enlisted men died in battle; three more officers and 236 more men died of disease. A few small tears to the old folds, but overall very clean and in excellent condition.
