A 19th CENTURY VICTORIAN \'DANCER\' BRASS DUMPY LEVEL-CASED
For sale is this 19th century Victorian brass level made by Dancer of Manchester and is stamped on the side, completewith itssolid mahogany case.
The level no damage to the lenses and appears to be in working order although the accuracy isunknown;it has spirit levels on the top and a revolving bearing dial indegrees at the base, see photo 5 & 11. To the inside of thelidthere various labels the large central label is a repair/adjusted label by J. Casartelli & Sons, dated June 8th, 1926, see photos 1 & 10. The case has the original brass hinges and lock but there is no key.
Conditioncommensuratewith age and use, but having no apparent major damage; the brass work is very dirty. The case has surface knocks/marks due to age/use. Please see photographs for overallcondition.
The case measures395mm long x 125mm wide x 125mm high.
