A 19th Century Indian Silver, (Bhuj, Kutch Region), Mug - by Ragavaji Mawji.:

Indian (Bhuj, Kutch {Cutch} region) - dating from the 19th century, c. 1880; (maker:Ragavaji Mawji).

A hand raised and worked unmarked high grade silver* mug - resting on an ornate circular collet type foot.

The surface is chased and embossed with fine floral scroll form decoration, set between two bands of repeating dart motifs. Eight oval cartouches are incorporated within the dense scrollwork - detailed by the additional images above. A fine quality applied \' C\' scroll handle incorporates an acanthus style thumb-piece.

The final two images above, detail the base - the maker\'s stamp, \"M.R. BHUJ\" is positioned centrally above an incised inscription.

Overall height - 3 1/4\" (90mm)

Weight - 4.77oz Troy, (148.1g).

Condition: Very - Good. No cracks, no dents and no repairs. Very minor surface marks, (consistent with genuine age and usage). The decoration remains \'sharp & crisp\'. Fine natural colour and patina.
