A hand constructed wrought copper ewer.

Resting on an applied pierced and flaring circular foot, the baluster form vessel incorporates a scrolling spout, the opening of which is chamfered.

The applied scrolling handle takes the form of a stylised dragon - the dragon incorporates the cover hinge fulcrum. The cover locates within opening of the vessel by a circular collet type lip - closing with a precise action.

Highly intricate and complex chiseled and chased floral scroll form decoration embellishes the entire surface. The area below the broad baluster incorporates raised scalloped decoration - each element of which incorporates foliate embellishment.

Overall height - 7 1/4\" (184mm).

Weight - 513 grams

Condition - Very Good. A bruise at the base of the spout. No major dents, no cracks. No repairs - the decoration \'sharp & crisp\'. Fine natural colour and patina.
