Chinese -清朝 (Qing Dynasty)-dating from the late 19th century.
A most superb antique ladies cinnabar lacquer-work hand mirror - the rich red lacquer forming highly complex and intricate cherry blossom decoration, finished in high relief. The original circular mirror glass is of bevelled form and retained by a circular bronze bezel or circlip - the bronze bezel finished with repeating chased scroll form decoration.
The mirror head is of segmented, or \'melon\' form - the back incorporating a slightly raised central boss. The tapering hand grip incorporates a plain surface to the area dividing the broad and curving front and reverse faces - see image 8.Overall length - 9 7/8\" (251mm), max width - 5 1/8\" (130mm).

Condition - Very Good. Minor movement of the glass within the head. No repairs. No cracks, no chips or splits. Super natural colour and patina
