A Fine Antique Hand Painted Mans Face Papier Mache Snuff Box c1820:

This fine antique snuff box i think dates to around 1820, the snuff box is made of lacquered papier mache and has a hand painted picture of a mans head on the lid that has been well painted and has good detail as seen in the photos, i am not sure who the person is but perhaps a character of the period or a painting of the original owner of the box , the snuff box has a nice shape and has nice patina with age , the box measures 3 x 2 inches , there are a couple of cracks to the rear of the box as shown and general minor wear and tear with age
