Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19thcentury

Square, set on a square stand carved with four bracketfeet and scalloped aprons covered by

brownish black on the front, it’s covered by unusual black

lacqueredpaper with a moulded floral decoration over the four square sides except

for afront, especially each drawer was painted in ink with a wild orchid in and outsides,

fitted with a largeupper and lower drawer and two smaller drawers with each drawer has

a Chinese character in the middle, the two pulls on thelarge drawers in the form of a stylized bats.

It’s in veryfine condition with a brownish black patina.

Measurements:11 3/8” h. x 10 ½” w.x 10 3/8” d. (28.8cm x 26.7cm x 26.4cm)
