A hand cut and tooled polished alabaster box - the base section cut from the solid block, (hollowed and polished). The \'lift-off\' cover is located by a recessed lip and slightly overhangs the base when in position.

The cover is beautifully inlaid with semi-precious hard stone, including lapis lazuli and turquoise. The inlay is of detailed floral motifs - see images 9 & 10.

Image 8, shows a paper collection label to the inside face of the cover.

Size: w. 6 3/8\" (162mm) x d. 4 5/16\" (109mm) x h. 1 7/8\" (48mm).

Condition - Very Good. No cracks or chips - no repairs. Fine natural colour and patina.
