In this realistically carved netsuke sarumawashi is wearing his typical cap and kimono.A happy monkey, his best companion setting on his shoulder .

amazing expression on his smiling face. Beautifully sculpted in curving, lifelike forms, the piece has a beautiful patina .The piece is in very good condition commensurate with age, it has a small old repair on his toe, barely noticeable (see photos).

Size: 9.5 x 3 cm. A large size netsuke, typical for Edo period. Well worn Himotoshi.
