LARGE DIMENSIONS ARE: The locket height: 58 mm, (THAT\'S 2.28 INCHES TALL includes top bail of 16 mm) Width at widest: 35.0 mm, depth = 11.0 mm.
The Collar length = 16.70 inches or 42.41 cm (This length includes the span of the spring loaded bolt ring fastener ring). Width of collar link is 8 mm

THIS IS A SUPERB VICTORIAN ANTIQUE SILVER LOCKET AND COLLAR, A MOST EYE CATCHING ITEM OF VICTORIAN SILVER JEWELLERY. THE LOCKET IS OVER TWO AND QUARTER INCHES IN HEIGHT. (See 5 pence and U.S. quarter in inset picture for size comparisons).
The marks here are the lion for Sterling Silver and italic low case \'e\' for 1879, Anchor for Birmingham assay office. Maker\'s mark is J.F.
Yes, the locket is in IMMACULATE condition, no dints, indents, bumps or scratches, indeed no blemishes at all, it is in SUPERB CONDITION. It will offer the new owner many more years safeguarding your most treasured keepsake or photographs.
The hinge is sound and firm, the locket opens easily and shuts well with a reassuring “click”. Inside the locket has purple watered silk insets and thick perspex covers, there are two solid silver retaining rims, one to each side.
The condition of the collar is also excellent, no misshapen, bent or faulty links and it drapes in a perfectly balanced way. The bolt action fastener ring function well and close securely on the spring mechanism. As is usually the case with silver collars of this period, circa 1880, this is unmarked. We have carefully \'check tested\' this collar and confirm it is solid silver quality throughout. I would imagine this locket & collar combination started out life together 137 years ago!
This is a delightful and most GORGEOUS Victorian locket and collar combination and well worth your careful consideration!!
