LARGE DIMENSIONS ARE:The locket height: 64 mm, ( THAT\'S 2.52 INCHES TALL includes top bail of 16 mm) Width at widest: 37.0 mm, depth = 9.5 mm.
The Collar length =17.90 inchesor 45.46 cm(This length includes the span of thespring loaded boltring fastener ring). Width of collar link is 11 mm

THIS IS A SUPERB VICTORIAN ANTIQUE SILVER LOCKET AND COLLAR, AMOST EYE CATCHINGITEM OF VICTORIAN SILVER JEWELLERY. THE LOCKETIS OVER TWO AND HALF INCHES IN HEIGHT. (See 5 pence and U.S. quarter in inset picture for size comparisons).
The frontof this oval locket has a raised central area, this has a charming pictorial of our \'LOVEBIRD\' swallow flying amidst its natural Environment. (The swallow was a popular subject matter for Victorian and Edwardian lockets, the bird that always returns). The central area is surrounded with tiers of different embossed geometric patternings, the locket has a \'moustache\' shaped top and this has a blown saddle bail attached which articulates. The bail is marked with a lion for sterling silver and has an aperture of 4.8 mm. The reverse of the locket is plain surfaced throughout apart for the full hallmarks for Birmingham 1881 and maker\'s mark.
The marks here are the lionfor Sterling Silver and italic low case \'g\' for 1881, Anchor for Birmingham assay office. Maker\'s mark is CE*FD
THIS LOCKET IS FULLY DATE AUTHENTICATED 134 YEARS OLD
LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE COLLAR. THIS IS ASUPER CLASSIC VICTORIAN SILVER COLLAR OF A MOST PLEASING DESIGN.
THE COLLAR HAS 23 LONG BAR LINKS OF 16 MM LONG, THESE ARE PRETTILY FOLIATE ENGRAVED TO THE FRONT SIDE BEING PLAIN SURFACED ON THE REVERSE. EACH LONG BAR LINK IS CONNECTED WITH A ROUND LINK OF 11 MM DIAMETER. THERE\'S A SPRING LOADED BOLT RING FASTENER WITH INNER DIAMETER OF 11 MM. THIS COLLAR IS 17.90 INCHES LONG
THIS IS A SUPERB COLLAR/NECKLACE. ITS GENEROUS LENGTH AND LOVELY DRAPE MAKES IT A PERFECT PIECE OF JEWELLERY IN ITS OWN RIGHT AS WELL AS DOUBLING UP TO CARRY THIS FABULOUS LOCKET.
THE CHAIN IS CONNECTED WITH A LARGE BOLT RING FASTENER AND WHEN THIS IS WORN TO THE FRONT IT HOLDS THE LOCKET TOO.
BOTH LOCKET AND COLLAR CHAIN ARE OF 1880\'S PERIOD AND MOST LIKELY CAME TOGETHER AS A UNIT FROM THE JEWELLERS SHOP THEN.

Yes, the locket is inIMMACULATE condition, no dints, indents, bumps or scratches, indeedno blemishes at all, it isinSUPERB CONDITION. It will offer the new owner many more yearssafeguarding your most treasured keepsake or photographs.
The hinge is sound and firm, the locket opens easily and shuts well with a reassuring “click”. Inside the locket has purple watered silk insets and thick perspex covers, there are two solid silver retaining rims,oneto each side.
The condition of the collar is also excellent, no misshapen, bent or faulty links and it drapes in a perfectly balanced way. The bolt action fastener rings function well and close securely on the spring mechanism. As is usually the case withsilver collars of this period, circa 1880,this is unmarked. We have carefully \'check tested\' this collar and confirm it is solid silver quality throughout. I wouldimagine this locket & collarcombination started out life together 134 years ago!
