FRESH FROM AN OLD COLLECTION.A FANTASTIC EARLY 19TH CENTURY CONNECTICUT PAINT DECORATED SLIDING LID CANDLE BOX. CONNECTICUT, CIRCA 1810-1840 IN WONDERFUL ORIGINAL RED PAINTED DECORATION. POPLAR AND PINE, CIRCA 1810-1840. A wonderful painted candle box in fantastic ORIGINAL BARN RED paint and wonderful detail. The painted surface is great. It is grungy, untouched and all original.
THE SLIDING TOP IS PANEL CUT AND HAS A NICE HAND CARVED FINGER PULL. The paint is FANTASTIC. Original, Grungy, Crackled, PERFECT. The original patina is great. THERE ARE NO REPAIRS AT ALL just the typical wear and tear you would see from almost 200 years of use. 13 3/4\" across, 4\" deep and it stands 3 1/4\" high. Typical wear associated with the age of the item. There is some minor losses to the edges of the sliding top but it still fits tight and slides well.
