A LARGE ATTRACTIVE 19th CENTURY VICTORIAN TUNBRIDGE WARE HANDKERCHIEF/TABLE BOX

Offered for sale is this large beautifulandcollectablevery attractive square antique figuredwalnutveneered Tunbridge Ware handkerchief box (circa 1860), having an inlayed flora centre design set in a boxwood surround on the lid, and inlayed flora banding to all the sides, see photos; and the external wood finish has a super originalpatina. Internally the box still has the original blue satin lining (see photos). Ibelieve this box to be alloriginal including the brasshinges and lock which is in working orderwith a key. The base stillhas the original linen lining insert. Please take time to study thephotographs in order to gain an appreciation of the intricate anddetailed inlay designs to the lid and sides.

The condition ofthis box is excellent considering it\'s agehaving no major damage, missing or lose veneer/inlay, or chips orprevious repair work; there are a few insignificant very small hair cracks to the lid surface due to thermalmovement of the inlay (see photos 5 & 6) but these are stable and not lose, and the are minor impressed marks to the vanish surface on the lid, see photos 5 & 6.Internallythe condition of the satin lining is good considering the age,there is just a very slight rip just below where the key is shown, see photo 12.Pleaseseeallphotographsfor overallcondition.
