CONDITION: IT’S IN SUPERB CONDITION THROUGHOUT

THIS IS A EDWARDIAN ANTIQUE LOCKET OF A GENEROUS SIZE, IDEAL TO WEAR EACH AND EVERY DAY AND / OR SPECIAL ENOUGH TO KEEP JUST FOR THOSE CHERISHED OCCASIONS. A MOST ‘EYE CATCHING’ ITEM OF ANTIQUE JEWELLERY (See 5 Pence and U.S. 5 cents in inset picture for comparisons).

The front of the locket has a lovely FLORAL engraving with a vacant shield shaped cartouche to the centre. This engraved area is boardered with pretty fancy raised banded edges. The locket has a \'moustache\' shaped top which holds an articulating \'saddle\' The bail has an inner aperture of 4 mm.
Reverse of locket has same format except foliate engraving throughout and no central cartouche.Within the engraving at the base are markings \'9CT GOLD\' BK & FTs.

This locket is a mellow rose gold typical of 9ct gold from this period. We have carefully ‘check tested’ the piece and confirm it is \'9ct Gold Back & Front\' category.

(9ct Back & Front is a locket category where the front and back panels and scroll top and bail are of solid 9ct gold, and check tested here, the internal frame and rims are not gold. This method of construction was used primarily to achieve greater strength and durability of the locket).

Yes, this locket is in excellent condition, no dints, indents, bumps or scratches, indeed no blemishes at all. Crisp engraving having a lovely polished finish throughout.
