Description

AN EXTREMELY FINE EARLY 19TH CENTURY TIN OR TOLE WARE DOME TOP DOCUMENT BOX IN ITS ORIGINAL PAINT DECORATED SURFACE. Probably Connecticut, Circa 1820-1840 in UNTOUCHED original condition STILL RETAINING ITS ORIGINAL WIRE TOP CARRYING HANDLE.

VERY FINE ORIGINAL POLYCHROME PAINTED DECORATION.
THE BOX STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL TOP WIRE HANDLE AS WELL AS ITS ORIGINAL LATCH AND HINGES. NO DAMAGES TO THE PIECE AND THERE ARE NO REPAIRS OR RESTORATIONS.

LIKE USUAL THERE IS SOME PAINT LOSS THROUGHOUT, (see photos). The black base coat has some minor losses and the paint on the top is worn.
