A PAIR OF ANTIQUE, ART NOUVEAU, BRASS DESKTOP STAMP BOXES.:

This pair of antique stamp boxes are in good condition, with just a little bit of age related patina.

Made from solidbrass with pierced hinged lids, each box has two inner compartments.

Each box would have sat on a desk top and wouldhave held stamps.

It\'shard to be precise, but I believe they date from the late 19thto the early 20th century.

The lids carry a sunflower design and the boxes are a meaty sarcophagus shape.

Although designed as stamp boxes, these could well be used as incense burners or just as a little antique bling around the home.

Each box measures 9 cm long, 6 cm deep and stands 4 cm high with its lid closed.
