This pair of candle holders is probably among the finest examples of glass table ware which was not confined to dishes but included accessories or simple decoration such as these. The taller of the two is featured in the \"Collector\'s guide to Art Deco\" by Mary Frank Gaston. It is on page 90, Plate 218. It is described as having a \"sharp angular shape\". The holder stands on a hexagonal platform supported by two columns attached to the candle cup like buttresses. This candle holder is 6 1/4\" tall. It is in excellent plus condition. No chips. The smaller one is also angular in shape but softer with a slight curve on the supporting columns. It projects a trophy-like image. It also stands on a hexagonal platform. It is 4 1/4\" tall. It is in excellent plus condition. The holder top is gilt. There is a faint residue of provenance painted on the base: Souvenir Wessington SD. These pieces are unmarked. They possibly have the same maker.
