British Colonial, India- dating from the early to mid 19th century.
The internally weighted circular bases rise through an ornate central baluster to form the complex capitals at the upper extremes. Constructed from high grade silver* and finely hand tooled, both examples are of sectional construction.
The flaring base sections are finished with deeply chiseled and chased decoration - shaped lozenges contain arabesques. The central baluster embellishments are decorated with bands of lotus petals.
The broad capitals incorporate fret-work pierced galleries, into which an optional glass shade would socket. The central candle scones allow these scarce examples to be used without glass covers.
Image 11, shows a small punched mark, (unidentified), struck to one of the gallery sections.Overall height - 4 3/4\" (121mm), base diameter - 3 1/2\" (89mm).
Total combined weight - 1,160 grams.*Tested and confirmed high grade silver.

Condition - Very Good. Signs of wear from genuine age and sustained usage. Natural colour and patina.
