Chinese -清朝 (Qing Dynasty)-dating from the early 19th century.
A pair of hand carved and finished brush pots (bitong), created from two sections of bamboo timber - a natural growth node forming the recessed base to each.
Both examples are carved with a large vignette - immortals are depicted by a pagoda within a prunus grove setting.
The openings are chamfered, (tapering inward) and lightly black finished.Overall height - 5\" (128mm), max diameter - 4 3/4\" (121mm).
Weight: (a) 371 grams, (b) 367 grams.

Condition: Very Good. The usual very minor shrinkage cracks. No restoration. Fine natural colour and patina.
