Antiques in good taste – harmic.little   A very large and intricately cut late-Georgian or early Victorian knife-rest of dumbell form with intricately cut surface decoration; English, circa 1840.  This superb knife-rest is unusually large, measuring 5 3/8 inches in length and was clearly designed to support a large carving knife. These rests are hard to find nowadays so we are particularly pleased to offer this example which would be a great addition to any fine dining table. This beautiful knife rest is of dumbell form, the oval \'melon\' ends being especially well carved and cut with a variety of different glass-cutting techniques. The central, narrow shank is also nicely decorated using a mixture of surface and groove cuts. The condition is excellent with no damage.  Thank you for offerding and good luck! . Insurance is included with shipping. Absolutely guaranteed authentic.
